The two-year program will require two "in-residence experiences" on the Indianapolis campus and in Bermuda, which is considered "the world’s risk capital." MSRI program head Victor Puleo, who is an associate professor of risk management and insurance, says "as one insurance executive said in our focus group: ‘This degree is an automatic $10,000 raise for any employee who acquires it.’"
The curriculum will include property and casualty and health and life elements, as well as courses dealing with insurance-linked securities. Last year, Butler launched the MJ Student-Run Insurance Co. Ltd., a first-of-its-kind company at a university, which insures a range of items like the campus telescope and rare books, and even the Butler Blue III, the school’s live bulldog mascot.
Applications for the new online program will open August 1 and more information can be found by clicking here.
