Edward Alexander has been appointed executive director of Heritage Place of Indianapolis Inc. He previously served as national field director for the Lupus Foundation of America Inc. in Washington, DC. Alexander will officially assume the role on July 9 following the more than 35 year tenure of Ruth Ann Hankins.

Alexander’s 30 years of working for, managing and leading mission-driven organizations has provided him with broad experience in all aspects of operating dynamic nonprofit entities and in addressing issues of housing, healthcare and financial well-being that are critically important to older adults. His extensive community service includes key leadership positions with the Indianapolis Mental Health Task Force, Indianapolis Mayor’s Advisory Council on Disability, National Rehabilitation Association and Step-Up Indianapolis Inc.
