The Palladium-Item reports crews will begin tearing down the Leeds Tower April 9 after several months of environmental remediation on the campus and “soft” demo work inside the buildings.
The actual demolition of the buildings has been delayed as Indianapolis-based contractor Renascent Inc. has been waiting for new equipment to arrive, according to the publication. The entire project, estimated to cost more than $4 million, is expected to be complete in July 2019.
Reid Health left the former hospital campus in 2008 and the buildings on the site have fallen into disrepair since then.
