She will lead advocacy efforts for the Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne and Bloomington offices, overseeing the claims practice members assigned to those offices. Chavis most recently served as a litigation specialist at State Farm Insurance.
She also previously worked for many years at Eli Lilly and Co. as a clinical research administrator, project leader and project manager. While working there, Chavis attended law school and received her degree from the Indiana University School of Law. She was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1998 and practiced law from 1998 thru 2012 at both state and federal trial and appellate levels. Chavis graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences.
