Dora to Lead USDA Rural Development in Indiana

Subscribe NowThe chairman of the Ivy Tech Community College Board of Directors has been appointed state director for U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development in Indiana by the Trump administration. Michael Dora is retired and was the previous owner/operator of Dora Enterprises, the family’s grain and swine production operation in Rush County.
He was appointed to the Ivy Tech board in 2013 by then-Governor Mike Pence. Dora led the search committee that eventually hired former Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann as Ivy Tech president in 2016. He is serving in his second term on the board.
The USDA says Dora has 42 years of management experience and has also served as a volunteer EMT, firefighter, wrestling coach and school board trustee. Dora will oversee Rural Development programs in "a customer-focused manner to restore prosperity in rural Indiana."
