Organizers say the event will celebrate the “remarkable impact Ian Rolland had on the Fort Wayne community, Lincoln Financial Group and too many individuals to name.”
The Celebration of Life will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne. Rolland’s family says, because of his love of ice cream, the celebration will be an ice cream social with a collection of pictures and memorabilia on display.
Rolland is the former chief executive officer of Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., a position he began in 1977. The Fort Wayne native was heavily involved in the community, including leading the push to create Headwaters Park in the late 1990s. He received the state’s highest honor, the Sachem Award, in 2012.
Those unable to attend the Celebration of Life will also have the chance to attend visitation for Rolland, which will take place Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow. Both the visitation and funeral will also be held at the Turnstone Center.
