Shawn McCoy and James Porter have taken over as chief executive officer and president, respectively, following the June 30 retirement of Linda White, who had served in both roles since 2004.
White announced her retirement in October, at which time both McCoy and Porter were named as successors. Before assuming their current roles, McCoy served as chief operating officer and Porter served as chief medical officer.
"Shawn and I have worked closely together for the past 15 years as Deaconess has grown to be the region’s leader in providing quality, compassionate health care," said Porter. "We share a strong commitment to the priorities of safe, effective, efficient, compassionate care which meets the needs and expectations of our patients, medical staff and employees."
White has served in a number of positions with Deaconess over the past 40 years. She will serve as CEO Emerita for one year following her retirement.
