He previously had a career with in the Indiana General Assembly, where he had several leadership positions and served as speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives for the last six years of his time in office. Gregg most recently was the Democratic Party’s candidate for Indiana governor.
Joe Champion has also been appointed to partner. He served as deputy prosecutor of Marion County, special counsel for gaming in the Indiana House of Representatives and House Parliamentarian. Champion also advises local units of government in areas of gaming, economic development, P-3 and overall strategy.
Also, Sebastian Smelko (pictured) has joined the firm as of counsel where his practice focuses on the areas of public affairs, municipal finance, gaming, utilities and real estate. He previously served as associate general counsel and policy director overseeing all gaming and public safety matters in the office of former Governor Mitch Daniels. Smelko also served as general counsel for the Ports of Indiana and has worked on private equity, gaming, energy, utility, education and conservancy district matters.
