The finalists are looking to take home the $5,000 top prize in the seed accelerator competition.
Each finalist will receive $1,000 for making it to the final stage of the competition. They will present their pitches to a panel of angel investors and venture capitalists. The finalists include:
- Bellwether Design Solutions: A company that allows home builders to give their clients virtual reality tours of what their newly constructed homes will look like, and allow them to make changes before construction is finished.
- Trubadour: A company that takes charge of user submitted poems via mobile web to improve the experience for readers and poets alike.
- Explore Interactive: A company that creates augmented reality educational games for elementary classrooms.
The first, second and third place teams will receive $5,000, $3,000 and $1,500, respectively. One nonprofit team, known as Commons, will also make a presentation to the panel but will not be competing for the cash prizes. Commons has designed a software platform to allow users to see how their representatives have voted on bills, according to Purdue.
The pitch presentations will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Anvil, the student-run entrepreneurship coworking space.
