The organization says Catchings will be involved in all three of its basketball franchises: the Indiana Pacers, the Fever and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
In her new role, Catchings will participate in the structure and implementation of player development programs, player relations and community outreach, according to PS&E. The organization says the newly-created position expands its "ability to education and prepare players for their post-playing careers."
"Adding Tamika to our front office staff is a natural fit," said Kelly Krauskopf, Fever president and general manager. "As an organization, we are committed to the growth and development of our players. There is no one better who can have the kind of impact on our individual players like Tamika."
Catchings will also work one-on-one with players on speaking and presentation skills, as well as the development of athlete foundations and other business interests.
