Old National Bank Names Fort Wayne Region President

He will replace Wendell Bontrager who is leaving to serve as president of Equity Bank in Wichita, Kansas. Doan, who will be relocating to Fort Wayne from Terre Haute as part of this transition, will retain his responsibilities as CEO of Old National’s Northern Super Region. He began his banking career at First Citizens Bank in Greencastle, which was acquired by Old National in 1985. Doan is an experienced region president, having served Old National in that capacity in Bloomington, twice in Greencastle, Indianapolis, Mishawaka and Terre Haute. In 2013, he was named Old National’s Leader of the Year. Doan earned his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and an MBA from Indiana State University. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. In addition to serving as past chairman of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the Board and Executive Committee for the Terre Haute Economic Development Corp., and on the Steering Committee of Terre Haute Tomorrow. Doan is also Finance Committee Chairman and a Board member of the Indiana State Foundation, and is a previous board member for the Notre Dame Snite Museum and the Fischoff National Music Chamber Association. He has also served on the board of the Methodist Hospital Foundation, Japan American Society of Indiana, and Indiana State Board of Depositories. Doan is past president of the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation, Putnam Co. Economic Development Corporation, and Bloomington and Greencastle Chambers of Commerce.
