Carmel-based Baldwin & Lyons Inc. has appointed William Vens chief financial officer. The company has also announced that Randall Birchfield has been named president, in addition to his current role as chief executive officer. Vens joined the firm in 2014, most recently serving as vice president of strategy and planning. Birchfield was appointed CEO in May after previously serving as executive vice president of sales and underwriting. Birchfield’s appointment came following the retirements Joseph DeVito, Gary Miller and Patrick Corydon. Douglas Collins, assistant vice president and director of accounting and finance, was named interim CFO until the board could find a permanent successor for the position.
