The school says the event will mark the first time the three candidates, Eric Holcomb, John Gregg and Rex Bell will speak at a single function addressing a wide range of issues.
The forum, set for 7:00 at Hine Hall Auditorium in Indianapolis, will be moderated by former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard. The candidates will not be on stage at the same time.
The event is part of the IU Public Policy Institute’s Policy Choices Initiative, which recently issued a report examining issues facing Indiana’s rural, mid-sized and urban areas. The school says it considers policy, progress and priorities using a place-based approach.
Earlier this month, the Indiana Debate Commission set the date for the first of three potential debates among the candidates. It is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27 at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. Additional debates could come in October.
