The Republic reports shooting for the movie, which is tentatively titled "Columbus," will take place in Bartholomew County for the next two weeks. The plot involves a Korean-born main character, whose father is hospitalized and in a coma following an accident in Columbus.
Producer Aaron Boyd tells the publication the city’s well-known architecture "is almost like another character." The cast includes John Cho, who also plays "Sulu" in "Star Trek Beyond," Haley Lu Richardson from "Ravenswood" ABC Family network and Michael Cera of "Arrested Development," "Superbad" and "Juno" fame.
Screenplay writer and director Kogonada became interested in the city through New York Times and National Public Radio stories about its design prowess.
