Legacy Completes Maiden Flight
Legacy plans to have full-time operations in place in Indianapolis by the end of the year.

Founder Chris Allen says the flight, organized to show off the company’s concept and business model, sold out all 168 seats.
The private travel club is billed as a "reincarnation" of the ATA Airlines concept, and has many ATA employees and executives on staff. Last month, Allen told Inside INdiana Business that Legacy Travel Club would provide a "country club of the skies experience." During an interview with Inside INdiana Business, he called the business model "the sweet spot between private charter flying and the commercial airlines."
Legacy plans to have full-time operations in place in Indianapolis by the end of the year. Allen says the company will eventually move into "underserved" markets including Nashville, Tennessee and Columbus, Ohio. The airline plans a launch party in August, where executives will detail additional upcoming trips.
ATA was launched in the 1970s. After multiple bankruptcies and restarts, the airline went out of business in 2008.
