Subscribe NowThe Purdue Alumni Association board of directors has elected Ralph Amos president and chief executive officer. He currently serves as vice president of alumni relations for the University System of Maryland Foundation.
The association has a staff of 27 and represents Purdue and its more than 440,000 alumni. It has over 64,000 global members.
Alumni Association Board Vice Chair Steve Murphy, who chaired the search committee said "we are thrilled to welcome Ralph to Purdue and looking forward to introducing him to our thousands of loyal alumni. Ralph is a recognized alumni relations executive with 26 years of experience in institutional advancement and alumni engagement, and we know that expertise will serve him well in this new role at Purdue."
Amos’ previous experience includes positions at UCLA, the UCLA Alumni Association, Ohio University and Ohio State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from OSU and a master’s degrees from OU.
Amos will begin in the new role Monday. He succeeds Kirk Cerny, who left for a job in the private sector and had served in the role for nine years. Jim Karl became interim president and CEO mid last year.
