The Forbes rankings consider factors including unemployment, median salaries for recent college graduates and the percentage of locals 25 and older with at least a bachelor’s degree.
Indianapolis placed 10th overall. Forbes groups the city with other "mid-tier" markets like Columbus, Ohio and Warren, Michigan, calling the "underrated" communities a relative bargain to live, compared to places like the Bay Area.
It says Indianapolis’ job growth is projected to be nearly 2.7 percent, median pay for young professionals is $48,200 and cost of living is 7.5 percent lower than the national average.

San Francisco was number one, followed by Silicon Valley, Raleigh, Dallas, Austin and Seattle. Indy was tied for 10th with Minneapolis-St. Paul.
