IU Health Taps Philly Children’s Exec For Riley President

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowRiley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis has named Matthew Cook president. He will succeed Paul Haut, who has served in the role on an interim basis for the last year.
Haut will continue serving as Riley’s chief medical officer. He took over in the interim for previous President Jeff Sperring, who became chief executive officer of Seattle Children’s last year.
Cook most recently served as executive vice president of strategic planning and business development at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He will report to IU Health Chief Operating Officer Al Gatmaitan and begin April 4.
Gatmaitan says "this is a time of critical expansion for Riley at IU Health, and Matt will build on its existing culture of collaboration and innovation, while focusing on its mission to provide compassionate care, support and comfort to children and their families. He’ll also ensure the success of key projects, such as the development of a comprehensive maternity and newborn health specialty practice."
Cook graduated at the top of his MBA class at New York University and holds degrees from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated cum laude.
