Ninety-eight people, products and company nominations in 14 categories make up the competition for the TechPoint Mira Awards. The announcement begins a five-month process of interviews and deliberations by judges to pick winners that will be honored April 23 at a black-tie awards ceremony and gala.
The winners’ ceremony will take place at The Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. The gala will feature recognition for the winners of competitive categories, as well as the announcement of three special industry honors: The TechPoint Foundation for Youth BridgeBuilder Award, TechPoint Trailblazer in Technology Award and Community Champion of the Year, which is a new recognition.
Nominees were selected by a panel of judges from more than 168 applications. This year’s slate of categories has grown along with the number of presenting sponsors. Eight new categories have been added and the 17th annual awards are presented this year by Angie’s List, Interactive Intelligence and Salesforce.
The state’s technology industry initiative says the 2016 nominees are:

TechPoint Chief Executive Officer Mike Langellier says "this year’s Mira Awards are the first ever to have three presenting sponsors, all three are publicly-traded technology companies, and all three employ more than 1,000 people here in Indiana. We couldn’t have planned it better or wished for better supporters than we have with Angie’s List, Interactive Intelligence and Salesforce."
In addition to the awards gala, upcoming Mira Award events include:
“Meet the Nominees Event” – The public can learn more about this year’s nominees at 60-second pitch event on Thursday, March 17.
“Mira Awards Gala” – Mira Award winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony and gala on Saturday, April 23, at The Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
“Winners Circle” – Current and past Mira Award Winners will have the chance to meet face-to-face with venture capital and private equity firms from across the country during the Winners Circle event on “Fast Friday” May 20, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
