16 Tech Adds Big Names to Board

Executives from companies including Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) and Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) will join the board guiding the development of the innovation district on the near west side of Indianapolis.
The new members are Mays Chemical Co. President Kristin Mays-Corbitt, Eli Lilly Senior Vice President Bart Peterson and Cummins Vice President Marya Rose. The city of Indianapolis’ board representative is newly-appointed Deputy Mayor For Economic Development Angela Smith Jones.
In a release from 16 Tech Corp., President Betsy McCaw says the new board members "bring deep community leadership and business experience to the board, underscoring the importance of collaboration among industry sectors and diversity of community involvement to the success of the 16 Tech innovation community."
The 60-acre industry, residential and retail site is planned near the IUPUI campus and is set to be the permanent home of the $360 million Indiana Biosciences Research Center. The effort received a major boost last year when the City-County Council in Indianapolis approved $75 million in bond funding for infrastructure work.
