State Revenues Outpace Expectations

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowState revenues for August were $6.4 million above the most recent forecast. The Indiana State Budget Agency says collections were more than 10 percent, higher than the same month a year earlier.
Individual income tax collections, corporate tax collections and riverboat wagering collections all exceeded expectations, while sales tax collections and racino wagering tax collections were lower than the April 16 forecast.
Year-to-date, the state’s general fund collections are higher than projected, totaling more than $2.12 billion, which is a 5.1 percent increase over August 2014.
