Solaran Industries in Logansport has named Ken Elwell president. He previously served as the communication technology company's director of protocol development. Elwell succeeds founding President Anderson Lail, who will remain on the company's board. Lail founded the company in 2014 and applied for a patent for a network interface card using quantum physics principles. Solaran says Lail will dedicate his attention to technology development.

In a news release issued by the company, Elwell said, “I'm honored to have this opportunity to tell people about Solaran's inventions and their broad-ranging commercial, governmental, and research applications. Solaran's proprietary adapter chipset and media access control protocol designs will enable current TCP/IP-based communications networks to be incredibly fast, unbreakably resilient, and completely undetectable to potential adversaries.
