The president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway says “we are ready to race” this weekend. Doug Boles says IMS has improved the fan experience for Sunday's 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 by adding 20 new HD video boards and a new digital scoring pylon. Boles says they also have big plans for next year's 100th race. During an interview to air this weekend on Inside INdiana Business Television, Boles says it will still feel like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but with a bit of a modern twist. Officials are getting ready for a year-long celebration. Next year, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will celebrate the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, which will take place on Sunday, May 29, 2016. This week, IMS unveiled the logo for next year's Indianapolis 500.

The look of the World’s Greatest Race Course will also change. IMS officials recently unveiled the next phase of the “Project 100” initiative, which includes $30 million in improvements to the iconic structure.

The project includes entryway enhancements along 16th Street, a dramatic new plaza at Gate 1 and more seating.

IMS says the biggest change will be in the upper grandstands along the main straightaway and first turn. The plan includes new stadium seating, WIFI access and a new roofline that will provide improved views of the track.

Boles says construction will begin after the Moto GP in August and be finished by next May.
