Officials say the Music on the Square venue will feature opportunities and educational resources for “today's entrepreneurial musician.” The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Monday, June 8. Famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma will take part in the ceremony, along with Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray and DePauw University President Brian Casey.
Music on the Square features sound-isolating practice rooms. Once ongoing renovations are complete, it will also include a classroom, performance space and a catering kitchen.
The space will also feature an on-site box office, which will sell tickets to events at the university's Green Center for the Performing Arts.
