NEW ALBANY, Ind. – On June 3, business owners and exhibitors will gather at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center Louisville North in Clarksville, Ind. for the annual Minority & Women Business Owners Conference hosted by One Southern Indiana. Attendees are expected to arrive from throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
Unlike any event in this region, the conference is open to all business owners and targets minority, woman, disadvantaged, and veteran-owned entities along with organizations seeking to do business with these groups. The event’s annual MatchMakers session is a highly-anticipated portion of the conference bringing attendees back from year-to-year for valuable contract opportunities.
New to the conference this year are the Diversity Awards, which will honor businesses who demonstrate outstanding dedication toward ensuring all people live and works in an environment of equality, respect and fairness. Also honored will be businesses that are leading examples of excellent disadvantaged, minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses. The award ceremony will take place during the luncheon.
The conference also features a wide range of other activities from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Full registration includes a Kick-off breakfast with Keynote speaker Willie Billingslea, Jr., the awards luncheon, admission to the exhibit hall, a MatchMakers session, and workshops. Attendees may also attend two of the four offered workshop sessions which will feature a variety of topics including customer service strategies, time management skills, marketing for a small business and communicating your story with conviction.
Any disadvantaged businesses certified by accredited agencies should plan to attend the MatchMakers session. During this session, certified business owners will meet directly with procurement directors and supplier diversity managers from both government and corporate sectors
