Elkhart County Economic Development Corp. Chief Executive Officer Dorinda Heiden-Guss has announced she will step down next month. The South Bend Tribune reports Heiden-Guss is leaving the state to join her husband, who is relocating for a new career opportunity. The organization recently detailed investment growth in the county. Late last year, the Elkhart County EDC said existing and prospective companies invested nearly $110 million in the area in 2014, compared to $72 million the previous year.

Earlier this month, Winnebago Towables in Elkart County announced plans to expand operations and create nearly 150 jobs by 2019. The expansion involves an investment of more than $5 million to buy several facilities in Middlebury.

Heiden-Guss' last day is scheduled to be June 30.

The publication reports the EDC has hired an outside company to handle the search for a successor. The organization plans to name an interim president to serve beginning in July.
