News Release

Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann will join executives from Mitsubishi Engine North America (MENA), a subsidiary of Japan-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony on the company’s new automotive turbochargers manufacturing facility in Franklin.

In 2012, MENA announced that it would invest $10.8 million to locate its first turbocharger plant on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Climate Control's (MCCA) campus in Franklin, creating up to 73 new jobs by 2016. After a 10,700-square-foot expansion of the existing building footprint, the now 36,500-square-foot facility will be shared between both Mitsubishi companies. MENA currently employs more than 20 Hoosiers at the facility, with plans to begin production in August and to be fully operational by the end of 2016.
