Indianapolis-based Angie's List (Nasdaq: ANGI) is adding to its finance and content teams. The company says the hires include a former vice president at Sears Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: SHLD) and a former Indianapolis Star photographer.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Angie's List (Nasdaq: ANGI) today announced the appointment of two vice presidents to its Finance department, reporting to chief financial officer, Tom Fox. Peter Evans, vice president of finance, and Rajesh Venkat, vice president of strategic planning, were hired to provide thought leadership and business analysis to the executive team regarding key company decisions.

Evans joins Angie’s List from Sears Holding Corporation, headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, where he most recently served as vice president and chief financial officer of the Kenmore, Craftsman and DieHard brands. Earlier in his career, he served as a principal consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

At Angie’s List, Evans oversees the financial planning and analysis, corporate finance and treasury functions while also serving as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team regarding new strategies and business opportunities. Evans is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds a master’s degree in business from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Venkat joins Angie’s List as vice president of strategic planning. He comes to Angie's List from MicroStrategy, a business analytics solutions provider headquartered in the greater District of Columbia area, where he served as a vice president. Venkat was also vice president and general manager of the Identity Management and Biometrics Business for Ingersoll Rand/Allegion.

At Angie’s List, Venkat is responsible for further developing the company’s roadmap for value creation, analyzing the market and competitive landscape and working closely with other Angie’s List departments to drive execution of corporate and business strategies. Venkat is a graduate of Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, and he holds master’s degrees from the University of Michigan and Ohio University.

Angie’s List also announced a director-level hire to its content department. Michael Fender joins Angie’s List as director of multimedia where he manages the company’s photo and video reporting staff and directs a new cross-platform team designed to support the entire company’s multimedia needs. Fender previously worked for The Indianapolis Star where he served as director of photography.

Fender is an award-winning photographer, most notably a six-time winner of Indiana Photographer of the Year. He is the former national president of the Associated Press Photo Managers and a graduate of Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology.
