News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) has garnered two more land deals as part of its initiative to place more than 1,200 acres back into the market. New development on airport land will add to the property tax rolls and help create jobs in our community. The latest land sold consists of two parcels in Hendricks County with a combined purchase price of more than $430,000. The two sections of land are located in the southwest corner of I-70 and State Road 267 and in the southwest corner of Washington St. and Ronald Reagan Parkway.

Today, the IAA Board voted on and approved both transactions.

In January, the IAA sold its first piece of land as part of this initiative with a purchase price of $8.0 million. The purchased land consists of approximately 80 acres and is also located in Hendricks County.

“The IAA is moving forward with this initiative and developing long term partnerships with entities who share the same goal of creating jobs and benefiting the local economy and the communities IND serves,” said Eric Anderson, IAA property director. “We are really excited about the progress of this initiative and have been a part of some really great discussions about ideas for future development around the airport.”

On Feb. 27, 2015, the IAA issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQual) for real estate brokers interested in the 645 acres of land that IND plans to return to the local market. On March 31, 2015, the IAA will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Master Developers interested in the land that will be made available for development, which includes prime properties surrounding the old terminal and also along Washington St.
