South Bend, Ind. – Healy Group will begin moving to the financial services company's new headquarters at 17535 Generations Drive in South Bend on February 16. Rich Preuss, Healy Group co-owner and head of the construction committee announced today that the 12,300-square-foot office building is on schedule for the planned move.
The new facility is on a 5-1/2-acre lot in the Foundation Center Office Park near the corner of State Road 23 and Douglas Road in South Bend. The facility will provide 51 offices and workstations for the firm’s growing staff. It features a large conference room with state-of-the-art technology and a seating capacity of 44. Other amenities include a fireplace, patio, full kitchen and a vaulted clerestory (raised) skylight over the large open lobby. Several public and private open houses are planned in the coming months.
“Although the new building is just across the street from our current offices, moving and setting up over 50 offices will be no easy task,” Preuss said. “However we have been looking forward to this move for several years now and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Preuss said the firm undertook the $2.4 million dollar construction project to provide a larger, more productive work environment for the growing staff. “Frankly, we had no choice,” he added. “The growth of our business and the staff needed to support that growth demanded that we make this investment. We also really wanted an environment which every team member would find stimulating and enjoyable.”
The company currently employs 37 people and is looking to increase the staff by 20 to 25 percent over the next few years.
Founded in 1976 by veteran life insurance agent, Ed Healy, Healy Group now provides a full suite of financial and risk management services through its insurance, group benefits, wealth management and mortgage divisions. In addition to Preuss, the ownership team includes Randy Raciti, Tony Nyers and Chris Rowland.
