Bowen Health breaks ground on Wabash facility

Bowen Health has broken ground on what will be its fourth new integrated health facility in northern Indiana.
The $11 million facility, to be located at 1649 Bowen Drive in Wabash, will provide primary health care, mental health care, addiction recovery treatment and life skills coaching as well as dental care, which is not now offered at Bowen Health’s existing 255 North Miami Street facility.
The new facility will encompass about 20,000 square feet, according to a news release.
“Bowen has been a part of this community for more than 60 years,” Bowen Health Executive Director Lori Augustus. “In that time, it has leaned into innovation and collaboration to create solutions for the problems that we have faced previously and the ones that we’re facing yet today. We’re privileged to work with so many of you and to partner with you along the way, to share the goals of improving the health and well-being of this community.”
The facility is expected to open near the end of 2026.
“This new space will allow us to expand our mental and physical health services and, for the first time, offer dental care to Wabash County,” Bowen Health COO Shannon Hannon said. “This ensures more comprehensive, accessible care for all of the residents, and importantly, these services are not just for our existing patients. They’re for everyone in our community who needs them.”
Similar facilities opened in Whitley County in January 2024 and in Marshall County in November 2024. A third facility is expected to open this fall in Kosciusko County, the organization said.
Bowen Health, a nonprofit based in Warsaw, provides a variety of health services in 21 Indiana counties.
