INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is pleased to announce that it has selected Angela Cain as its new director of public affairs. With 30 years of television journalism and management experience, Cain has had a distinguished career as a versatile and multitalented communications, media relations and public relations professional.
“We are delighted to welcome Angela Cain to the Indianapolis Airport Authority,” said IAA Board President Michael Wells. “Our relationship with the community is crucial and I can’t think of a better person to represent us than Angela. Her accomplishments and decades of experience give me confidence that she will not only strengthen our team but will also help drive our success in all areas of communications and outreach.”
Cain has written and produced thousands of stories throughout her career, which has included stints as news anchor and health reporter at KXAS-TV in Dallas and, most recently, community affairs director at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis. At WTHR, she promoted, planned and led all of the station’s community service campaigns year-round, including “Coats for Kids,” “Race for the Cure” and the “United Christmas Service.” Cain also produced, wrote and hosted television specials, community segments and news stories that gained national, regional and local honors.

Cain's community affairs reporting won a national award from the American Women in Radio and Television, four regional Emmys, and more than a dozen awards from the Indiana Broadcasters Association for community campaigns, news series, and television specials with great impact. Cain was also the first broadcaster to receive the national HopeLine award, from Verizon Wireless, for shattering the silence on domestic abuse. Cain has won countless community awards as well for her personal involvement in community initiatives, including serving as a keynote speaker and emcee for dozens of community, agency and business events. She also has helped raise millions of dollars for various nonprofit agencies through community service campaigns over the years.
