Newsweek is out with its annual ranking of “America’s Most Responsible Companies” for 2025, and 14 Indiana-based companies are included. The 600 companies are ranked based on three areas of corporate social responsibility: environmental, social, and corporate governance.

The companies were chosen from the top 2,000 public companies by revenue. This year’s list has three more Indiana-based companies than last year.

Indianapolis-based Elevance Health is the highest-ranked Indiana company on the list at No. 107. Berry Global Group in Evansville, which was ranked No. 35 last year, fell to No. 198 on this year’s list.

The other Hoosier representatives on the list are:

  • 272. Kimball Electronics (Jasper)
  • 291. Franklin Electric (Fort Wayne)
  • 341. Elanco Animal Health (Greenfield)
  • 353. Wabash (Lafayette)
  • 375. Eli Lilly and Co. (Indianapolis)
  • 431. LCI Industries (Elkhart)
  • 434. Corteva Agriscience (Indianapolis)
  • 447. Simon Property Group (Indianapolis)
  • 452. Allison Transmission (Indianapolis)
  • 484. Hillenbrand (Batesville)
  • 493. Thor Industries (Elkhart)
  • 568. CNO Financial Group (Carmel)

Kim Ryan, CEO of Hillenbrand, which is one of the new Indiana companies on the list, called the company’s inclusion an honor.

“This recognition highlights our commitment to transparency and our sustainability strategy, which aligns with customer expectations and builds long-term shareholder value,” Ryan said in a news release.

The top three companies on the list are Merck & Co. in Rahway, New Jersey; General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Illumina in San Diego, California.
