Abdul Hakim-Shabazz says, since those positions involve business regulations, investments and paying the state's bills, they can have a significant impact on the economic climate. Abdul says today's results will likely depend on which party does a better job of getting its base out to vote. The secretary of state election involves Republican Connie Lawson, the current officeholder, Democrat Elizabeth White and Libertarian Karl Tatgenhorst.
The auditor race includes Democrat Michael Clayton, Libertarian John Schik and current Auditor of State Suzanne Crouch.
The candidates for treasurer are Democrat Mike Boland, Libertarian Mike Jasper and Republican Kelly Mitchell.
Tuesday's ballot also includes several state legislator races.
