Casino Revenue Continues to Slip

The agency says adjusted gross revenue in August was $184 million, compared to $198 million during the same period the previous year. Only three of the state's 13 venues recorded higher comparative revenue last month.
Tropicana Evansville had adjusted gross revenue of more than $10 million, an increase from $9.3 million in August 2013.
Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino in Elizabeth notched up to $22.3 million last month, compared to $22 million a year earlier.
Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson, one of the state's two racinos, took in more than $17.1 million last month, up from $15.9 million in August 2013. Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville recorded monthly revenue of nearly $19 million, compared to $21.8 million. Racinos have been approved for an 8.5 percent deduction from the state.
East Chicago's Ameristar Casino reported revenue of $16.6 million last month, a decrease from $18.6 million during the same period in 2013.
The Blue Chip Hotel Casino Spa in Michigan cited nearly even profit of $13 million, compared to $13.1 million.
Horseshoe Casino Hammond's adjusted gross revenue of nearly $36.9 million in August is down from $39.6 million during the same period last year.
Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg recorded one of the biggest drops. Last month, it took in more than $16.5 million last month, compared to $21.6 million in August 2013.
Rising Star in Rising Sun reported $4.5 million in adjusted gross revenue last month, which was down from $5.7 million one year ago.
Belterra Casino in Florence was down to $8.9 million, compared to more than $10.6 million.
