Indianapolis-based Salin Bank & Trust Co. has named Rob Boyd community president for the Fort Wayne market. He previously served in executive positions at banks in Minnesota and Michigan.

Fort Wayne, Ind. — Family owned and Indiana-based Salin Bank today announced that Rob Boyd has been named Community President and will lead the commercial and business banking efforts for the Fort Wayne market.

Earlier today, Boyd joined all Salin Bank employees to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, donating $100 for each of the Fort Wayne-based employees. The team challenged all other Fort Wayne financial institutions to donate $100 per employee to the ALS Foundation; to date, donations to ALS have reached almost $80 million nationwide.

Boyd's extensive banking experience includes leading Bremer Bank in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he served as Senior Vice President – Senior Lender. In that role, Boyd managed a $435 Million loan portfolio throughout 12 offices. Earlier in his career, Boyd was Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for Alliance Bank based in New Buffalo, Michigan. He also has Hoosier roots, working senior-level positions at several South Bend banks, including National Bank & Trust Company, Farmers State Bank, First Source Bank, and Key Bank. In addition, Boyd served as a business owner of Bortz Farm Store in LaPorte, Indiana.

In his new role with Salin Bank, Boyd will be responsible for helping businesses in the Fort Wayne market area achieve financial success and growing Salin Bank's commercial banking business.

“Rob is an experienced banker with strong lending and leadership skills,” says Mike Greer, Executive Vice President – Director of Commercial Banking. “We are truly fortunate to have him lead our Fort Wayne team.”

Boyd has a Bachelor's of Science degree in General Management (Finance Major) at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. He also is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He donates his time to several organizations, including Kiwanis, Lions, Project Business, Habitat for Humanity, and Salvation Army, as well as serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Notre Dame and Goshen College.
