Indiana Landmarks says the owner is proceeding with plans to level the structure. It is not the first time the building has seen a date set for the wrecking ball. In 2009, a group convinced the owner to delay razing the 1926 building.
However, the $2 million asking price for the building on the corner of Capitol Avenue and 16th Street has gone unanswered.
Indiana Landmarks says the owner is amenable to saving the ornamental terra cotta fa?ade.
The group is making one last plea on its Facebook page for someone to step forward and purchase the property.
