BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Productivity Zone will hold a Grand Opening on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 1038 E. Main St., Brownsburg. The Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for the new Business Development Center at 3:30 p.m.
With the support and encouragement from the town of Brownsburg and the Brownsburg Economic Development Department, a group of small business owners have combined their efforts to bring a cutting-edge development to the county. Based on an idea of Managing Member Becky Homko, Productivity Zone is a co-working space designed to be a small business development center. The design fills the needs many home-based businesses struggle to fulfill such as a professional location to meet clients, a space to hold workshops or meetings, and a place to regularly meet and collaborate with other small business owners.
Co-working spaces have been popping up in large metropolitan areas to accommodate small business owners, mobile workers and freelance professionals. Other facilities, more aligned as small business accelerators or incubators, center primarily on the technology and bio industries, leaving no room for all of the other entrepreneurs in other fields.
The Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership recently reported that more than 90% of the businesses in Hendricks County are small businesses. Many of them work out of their homes, cars and coffee shops.
“There are an incredible number of home-based businesses in the area,” says Gregory Anderson, Economic Development Director for the Town of Brownsburg. “Productivity Zone provides an economic resource for startups, entrepreneurs and expanding companies with no place from which to grow. There is a unique opportunity for all those involved and we are proud that Productivity Zone calls Brownsburg home.”
Productivity Zone brings not only space to meet and work to every professional and every kind of business, but also the resources that provide potential to grow and develop business. There are two facilities available. One is a professional co-working space with private meeting and media rooms, plenty of outlets, free high-speed WIFI and administrative, phone and copying services available. The second space is a meeting room that can accommodate up to 40 people for larger meetings, workshops and other events.
Productivity Zone currently offers entrepreneurs, small business owners and mobile professionals many of the services and amenities a small business needs to function – and grow. Networking events and educational classes are held regularly and topics are driven by member requests and needs. Administrative services are reasonably priced for all business professionals, including start-ups, and are available at discounted cost to members.
Two affordable levels of membership are available. The Entrepreneur membership offers unlimited access to the co-working space, free high-speed WIFI, and a 25 percent discount on services and events. The Associate membership is for businesses most interested in meeting space rather than the co-working space, but still offers significant discounts on services, including copying and live phone answering.
Hendricks County is a hotbed of small businesses. Productivity Zone gives them all a place to work, meet, commune, develop, grow and flourish.
