Fort Wayne, Ind. — Meijer awarded Fort Wayne based CME Corporation the Design-Build contract for the new $100 Million fluid milk processing dairy in Tipp City, OH. The 113,000 square foot dairy facility will service 100 stores in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Kentucky and be built adjacent to the existing 1.7 million-square-foot Meijer Distribution Center. The dairy will produce 30 million gallons of Meijer-branded milks, other drinks and allow manufacturing of other products including organic milk, cottage cheese, sour cream and Greek yogurt. The awarded contract also includes a new 81,000 square foot cooler and a waste water treatment facility. Meijer operates 207 supercenters and grocery stores in the Midwest.
