Unionized workers have ratified a labor agreement with a subsidiary of Evansville-based Vectren Corp. (NYSE: VVC). Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana-North says the deal comes months ahead of the December expiration date for the existing agreement.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Vectren Corporation's subsidiary, Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana – North (Vectren), has learned union membership voted to ratify the labor agreement between Vectren and IBEW Local 1393 and Steelworker Locals 12213 and 7441 as of June 16, 2014. As a result of the efforts of all involved, this new agreement was finalized several months in advance of the December 1 expiration date for the existing agreement.

“We are pleased our colleagues voted to approve the contract,” said Vectren's Senior Vice President of Utility Operations & President Vectren Utility Holdings, Inc. (VUHI) Rick Schach. “The willingness of everyone involved to work together to reach this agreement well in advance of the contract’s expiration demonstrates the continuing commitment to maintain a productive partnership between the company and its colleagues and the continued provision of reliable and safe service for our customers.”

Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana – North serves 575,000 customers in all or a portion of Adams, Allen, Bartholomew, Blackford, Boone, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Floyd, Fountain, Grant, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Huntington, Jackson, Jay, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Madison, Martin, Marion, Miami, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Orange, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, Wayne, Wells and White counties.
