Hamilton County is on a national publication's list of America's 50 Healthiest Counties for Kids. U.S. News and World Report developed the rankings based on factors including infant death rate, percentage of children without health insurance and access to exercise opportunities. Hamilton County scored an 81.8 out of 100 by the publication's rating system, placing it 50th overall.

U.S. News and World Report used data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute's County Health Rankings and Roadmaps program.

Other determining factors for the rankings include rates of adult smoking and obesity and teen birth rate.
