Eskenazi Health and Community Health Network in Indianapolis have pulled the plug on plans for a public-private partnership. The agreement was announced last year as a way to adjust to federal health care changes. It was designed to streamline management of all Community Health and Eskenazi Health facilities in central Indiana. It is believed legal issues tripped up the agreement.

At the time of the announcement last February, Community Health Network Chief Executive Officer Bryan Mills, who was to also serve as CEO of the partnership, called it and innovative way to “integrate shared missions and visions.”

The deal did not involve closing any existing facilities, but the organizations did say last February it could lead to some operations receiving “significant investment in renovation or expansion.”

A spokesman with Eskenazi Health tells Inside INdiana Business word of the defunct partnership was released via email to the Eskenazi Health Foundation stakeholders.
