A report from the Indiana Business Research Center suggests the Boone County community's population grew 36.5 percent between 2010-2013, which was the highest growth rate of any Indiana town. Town Manager Dax Norton says the community rebuilt its water and sewer infrastructure during the recession. He believes the upgrades helped draw new residents and businesses including Amazon.com Inc. Whitestown, Ind. — The I-65 corridor just north of the Marion Boone County line is outpacing all other Indiana towns when it comes to growth. That's where you'll find the Town of Whitestown. According to new statistics from the Indiana Business Research Center Whitestown had the highest growth rate of any Indiana town between July 2010 and July 2013.
“It's a great place to live with two outstanding school districts nearby in Lebanon and Zionsville and with easy access to Indianapolis it's no wonder why we're booming,” says Whitestown Town Manager, Dax Norton.
Whitestown swelled to nearly 4-thousand residents in 2013, a whopping 36.5 percent increase over the three year period. Boone county overall grew at a rate of 2.5 percent per year over the period second only to Hamilton County according to the IBRC. “We've been fortunate to add so much infrastructure including restaurants, retail, mixed use housing and other amenities and we expect to continue to grow at a rapid rate,” stated Norton.
Matt Kinghorn, state demographer for the IBRC says Indiana reversed a trend of losing residents to now being the 30th fastest growing state. Zionsville and Lebanon are Boone Counties largest municipalities.
