The number of closed home sales last month in several northeast Indiana counties fell more than 17 percent. The Upstate Alliance of Realtors is also reporting a decline in the median sales price, compared to the same month a year earlier. The organization includes Allen, Whitely, Huntington, Adams, Wells, DeKalb and Noble counties. May 22, 2014

News ReleaseFort Wayne, Indiana (May 22, 2014)—Today, Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® released its April 2014 local housing market report. Comparing last month’s figures to the same timeframe last year, the leading market indicators are as follows:

-New Listings decreased 1.1 percent to 1,163.

-Pending Sales were up 0.8 percent to 758.

-Closed Sales decreased 17.4 percent to 522.

-Inventory levels grew 1.5 percent to 3,164 units.

-The Median Sales Price decreased 3.6 percent to $105,000.

-Percent of Original List Price Received decreased 0.3 percent to 92.7.

-Months Supply of Inventory remained flat at 5.3 months.
