Nearly four dozen nonprofits will receive grants from Indiana University Health Goshen's Community Benefit Fund. The organizations will share nearly $270,000. April 30, 2014

News Release

GOSHEN, Ind.- IU Health Goshen awarded a total of $269,870 to 46 nonprofit organizations in Goshen and the surrounding communities on Monday, April 14, 2014. Every year, the IU Health Goshen Board of Directors designates a percentage of the previous year's operating income for the hospital's Community Benefit Fund (CBF), through which the grants are distributed each spring.

IU Health Goshen has awarded approximately $2.2 million in grants through the CBF since the fund's inception in 1998. In announcing the award, IU Health Goshen President and Chief Executive Officer, Randal Christophel said, “IU Health Goshen is pleased to be in a position to invest in those not for profits who improve the health needs of our community. On behalf of our Board of Directors, we are delighted to make these investments in our community and look forward to those partnerships with groups who invest keeping our community healthy.

Grant recipients are organizations whose work meets the needs of the community and whose mission is consistent with that of IU Health Goshen. Organizations can apply for project grants and matching grants during the application period which runs from October to January each year. The fund does not support capital acquisitions, building projects or construction projects.
