MADISON COUNTY, Ind. – The Board of Directors of Madison County Leadership Academy (LAMC) has named Beth Erskine as the organization's new Executive Director. Erskine, most recently HR Director for Hopewell Center, brings more than two decades of experience in human resources, finance and nonprofit management to the post.
“Beth's qualifications make her perfectly suited for the position,” said Quang Vinh, LAMC Board Chair. “Between her leadership roles in both business and community and longstanding, active relationship with LAMC both as a graduate and a board member, we are excited to see what she can bring to the role.”
Graduating summa cum laude from Ball State University with a double major in business and secondary education, Beth's career started in the banking industry. By the time she left banking and joined a marketing firm in 1999 as head of human resources, she had reached the level of Assistant Vice President at Key Bank in Indianapolis. Her most recent position as Director of Human Resources for Hopewell Center is just one facet of her deep commitment to nonprofit work.
Currently, Erskine serves on several boards including the LAMC board for which she has been secretary for two years, and is an active community volunteer. A 1996 graduate of LAMC, Erskine has also led sessions for the Youth Leadership Academy – a branch of LAMC focused on the county's youth.
“LAMC is such a part of the fabric of our family that this is more than a job to me – it's a passion,” said Erskine, whose husband, Gary, is a graduate and father-in-law, Carl is a founding member. “I believe not only in the mission of LAMC, but also the people and community that it serves. Together we can do great things for Madison County.”
Started in 1981 as a lecture series, LAMC has evolved to become a community think tank and talent incubator, counting Chuck Staley, CEO-Flagship Enterprise Center, Beth Tharp-CEO-Community Hospital and Tom VanOsdol, CEO-St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital among its thousand plus graduates, all of whom go through a selection process to participate in the unique venture.
In celebration of Bobbette Snyder's retirement from her executive position of LAMC, a fund has been established to benefit the future of leadership development in Madison County.
