A native Hoosier and current Indianapolis resident has been named one of TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World. John Green's novel “The Fault in Our Stars” has been adapted for a Hollywood feature film. The movie is set to be released in June. The book was written primarily in Indianapolis.

Green is also part of an influential YouTube-based video blog called VlogBrothers that has more than $6 million subscribers and bills itself as “raising nerdy to the power of awesome.”

He is also the organizer of VidCon, an annual gathering of international video bloggers.

The most recent “Most Influential” recipient with a strong connection to Indiana was late-Indiana University Professor Elinor Ostrom in 2012.
