News Release

ANDERSON, Ind. – Go Electric Inc., a green tech startup and Woman Owned Business headquartered at the Flagship Enterprise Center, was awarded the $50,000 Female CEO Prize at the 2014 Clean Energy Challenge. The prize, contributed by Commonwealth Edison and the Clean Energy Trust, recognizes outstanding female entrepreneurship.

The Clean Energy Challenge is the Midwest's leading showcase for clean energy innovation. The annual event brings together entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and leaders. The Challenge combines a business plan competition for Midwestern entrepreneurs, researchers and students with presentations by leading clean energy thinkers and doers. Since the event launched in 2010, Clean Energy Challenge competitors have been awarded over $750,000 in prize money, raised more than $40 million in follow-on funding and benefitted from the Clean Energy Trust's network of over 200 mentors and 160 industry partners.

“I am thrilled with not only the award but also the outstanding mentoring Clean Energy Trust provided during the Challenge,” said Lisa Laughner, Founder, President & CEO of Go Electric.

“The industry contacts and the feedback we received about our Blinkless micro grid technology was invaluable.”

Go Electric is developing Blinkless micro grid technology and in 2013 received a $2.99 million SBIR RIF contract to deliver a 2MW Blinkless micro grid for the SPIDERS project at Camp Smith, HI.
