An Indiana county and city are at the top of national lists spotlighting housing prices and quality of life. CNN Money ranks the City of Kokomo among the “Top 10 Most Affordable Small Cities” and Johnson County on its list of “Where The Middle Class Thrives.” The website reports more than 96 percent of homes in Kokomo are considered affordable to the typical working household. The results are based on factors including median home price, median income and employment.

CNN Money touted “varied mix of industries,” “diverse local economy” and proximity to a larger city (Indianapolis) among the reasons Johnson County was considered a community with a thriving middle class.
