Businesses throughout the state are assessing damage this morning following yesterday's severe weather outbreak. Major employers reporting damage include the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. and VoestAlpine in Lafayette. In Kokomo, nearly all businesses at a shopping mall and nearby area sustained heavy damage. Several businesses in the Daviess County community of Washington were in the path of a major storm. They include a shopping center, Etienne's Farm Market and a radio group's studios. Our partners at WTHR in Indianapolis report Lebanon and Kokomo were among the hardest hit areas. Inside INdiana Business Radio affiliate WAMW-FM in Washington was knocked of the air for several hours before launching broadcasts from its transmitter site.

WOWO-AM in Fort Wayne has also returned to the air after storms took down power lines around the station's transmitter site.

Our partners at 21Alive in Fort Wayne report thousands were without power and damage was reported throughout the region, including a wall collapse at the Dollar General distribution center in Marion.

WLFI-TV in West Lafayette reports the weather severely damaged two Tippecanoe County School Corp. buildings. School is out in the district today.

Our partners at Eyewitness News in Evansville report areas including Knox County were affected by fallen trees and high winds.
